Angie Pembroke, APRN, joined Wayspring in June 2024 as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner at our new Des Moines, Iowa clinic. Angie graduated from Frontier Nursing University in 2021 with a Family Nurse Practitioner degree. Known for her infectious laughter, upbeat energy, and open, caring attitude, Angie strives to create a safe and welcoming environment for her patients. She is passionate about reducing mental health stigma, practicing evidence-based medicine, and providing competent care to all. Outside of work, Angie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and visiting her home country of Canada. She is an advocate for creating meaningful connections with her patients and is dedicated to making everyone feel heard and valued.
Safaa joined Wayspring in June 2024 as a Mental Health Therapist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Iowa and a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Barry University. Safaa's career is marked by her dedication to supporting individuals on their journey towards healing and growth. She has experience working with geriatrics, adults, teens, and families, facilitating both group and individual therapy sessions. Safaa is known for her compassionate approach and commitment to tailoring her therapy to each unique individual. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and engaging in activities that promote well-being.
Cory Slusher, a southwest Ohio native, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a rich background in forensic, emergency, and trauma nursing spanning 16 years. Her dedication lies in merging physical and mental health care to support holistic recovery. Cory's commitment to providing intentional, compassionate, and comprehensive care is rooted in her belief that recovery encompasses the whole person. Outside the clinic, she cherished time in nature with her family and pets.
