Dr. Gregory Barclay

Dr. Gregory Barclay, MD, DLFAPA, FASAP is a board-certified psychiatrist with over 40 years of clinical experience, and a Diplomate of the American Board of The American Board of Adolescent Psychiatry. He presently serves as Executive Director of The American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry and President of The American Board of Adolescent Psychiatry. In these two roles, Dr. Barclay has been actively involved as a leader and advocate for evidence-based treatments of adolescents with substance use and psychiatric disorders. Formerly, Dr. Barclay served 9 years as Behavioral Health Medical Director for Highmark Health Options, Delaware’s largest Managed Medicaid Program during which he was instrumental in efforts to utilize non-traditional but more effective approaches to Delaware’s evolving opioid addiction epidemic. Prior to relocating to Delaware in 2015, Dr. Barclay was a member of The Iowa Medicaid Drug Utilization Review Commission and a Voluntary Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
